Speaker and Worship

Our speaker this year is Debbie Chavez

After working as a news anchor, talk show host and award-winning manager at a news-talk radio station for 27 years, Debbie began her faith-based podcasts in 2008.  The podcasts provide powerful Bible principles to equip women who are facing personal challenges or relationship difficulties.

Beginning in 2010, Debbie began providing free online devotionals and youtube videos in addition to her podcasts.  Her continued committment is to help women gain Bible wisdom to help them grow closer to Christ, overcome common difficulties, and build stronger marriages…all for the glory of Christ!

Debbie founded the vibrant women’s ministry called Squadron of Sisters in 2010 in Bellingham, WA.  SOS is different than most other women’s ministries because Debbie models what it means to drop the “everything is fine” mask and be courageously transparent about difficulties we all face.  Learn more here.

In addition, Debbie co-hosted a daily podcast on marriage with pastor and marriage conference speaker Mark Gungor for several years.  They also aired a 2-season TV series on marriage.

Debbie has inspired women and provided powerful Bible guidance at conferences across the U.S. and in Africa as well.   

After 15 years of encouraging women with Bible-based guidance, Debbie finally compiled much of what she’s learned in her new books “Pivot” and “Above and Beyond”, both published in 2024.  More info here.

Mickie Cazet and Sophia Obbagy

Mickie Cazet serves in the worship ministry at Calvary Chapel the Rock in Santa Rosa, CA. With a BA in Biblical Studies from CCBC, she and her husband partner in ministry at Mt. Gilead Bible Camp. In her downtime, Mickie loves cooking for loved ones and savoring the connection that mealtime creates.

Sophia Obbagy has served at Calvary Chapel The Rock in worship ministry for three years. She is currently attending the Santa Rosa Junior College and is working as a Medical Office Assistant. In her downtime, Sophia enjoys reading, crafting, and trying new coffee shops with friends.
